British Asian Community Stands United with Labour Government to Build a Stronger Nation.

London: The Labour Asians Society (LAS) hosted a significant and impactful meeting with Deirdre Costigan, MP for Ealing and Southall. This event brought together a distinguished group of Labour Party members, councillors, activists, and business leaders to discuss key community initiatives, celebrate collective achievements, and outline future plans aimed at strengthening ties between the Labour Party and Asian communities across the UK.

The event served as a platform to reinforce the Labour Party’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, particularly under the leadership of Keir Starmer. Deirdre Costigan MP addressed the gathering, sharing her thoughts on community engagement and the critical role of fostering unity within the Labour Party. She expressed her gratitude to the LAS for their ongoing efforts in bringing the Asian communities together and building a stronger, more inclusive future for all.

Dr. Mohammad Waqaas, President of the Labour Asians Society, extended his heartfelt thanks to Deirdre Costigan MP and all the supporters who have played an instrumental role in uniting communities. He emphasized that the LAS remains steadfast in its mission to serve the Asian community and encourage greater involvement within the Labour Party, ultimately contributing to the strength of a Labour government.

The meeting began with Hanif Khan welcoming attendees and introducing the agenda. He highlighted the LAS’s rich history, its contributions to community development, and the vision for future initiatives aimed at fostering growth and solidarity.

Atta Haq, Chairman of the Labour Asians Society, also addressed the gathering, unveiling ambitious plans to further support UK-based Asian communities while reinforcing the Labour Party’s reach and influence. “The Labour Asians Society is committed to delivering transformative initiatives that benefit our communities and strengthen our ties with the Labour Party. Our future plans include serving 100,000 meals to those in need, hosting an annual event dedicated to Labour Asians, and marking 100 days of Keir Starmer’s leadership,” he stated.

Atta Haq also reaffirmed the LAS’s dedication to tackling national challenges and contributing to the Labour Party’s vision of investment, growth, and strong foundations. “Under Keir Starmer’s leadership, we aim to create meaningful change by working together as a unified force,” he added.

The event also featured addresses from prominent LAS leaders and councillors, including Co-Chairs Manish Tiwari and Anu Prashar, along with Cllr. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Cllr. Munir Ahmed, Cllr. Sarfraz Khan, Maria Saroya, and Juslena Randhawa. Each shared their perspectives on the importance of the LAS’s role in empowering the Asian community and furthering the Labour Party’s mission of inclusivity and equality.
