The Labour Asians Society (LAS) proudly announces its landmark event, “Bridging Gaps, Building Future”, taking place during the Labour Party Conference 2025 in Liverpool. This high-level session will bring together Members of Parliament, community leaders, and Labour supporters to address the pressing need for greater representation, inclusion, and empowerment of Asian communities within the Labour movement and beyond.

Why This Event Matters
The theme, “Bridging Gaps, Building Future”, reflects LAS’s mission to strengthen the bond between Britain’s Asian communities and the Labour Party. Asian communities play a vital role in shaping Britain’s social, cultural, and economic fabric. Yet, challenges remain in ensuring their voices are effectively represented in national policy, business, and local governance.

This event will serve as a platform to:

  • Highlight the importance of inclusive leadership and equitable representation in politics.
  • Celebrate the contributions of Asian communities across the UK.
  • Inspire future generations of activists, leaders, and professionals to play an active role in shaping Britain’s future.
  • Encourage open dialogue on how Labour can better support minority communities in addressing issues such as education, healthcare, business growth, and social justice.

Distinguished Speakers
This important discussion will feature leading voices within the Labour Party:

  • Seema Malhotra MP
  • Afzal Khan MP
  • Uma Kumaran MP
  • Dr. Rupa Huq MP
  • Virendra Sharma MP (Host)

Together, they will share insights on the path forward for Labour’s relationship with Asian communities, and how collective action can build a fairer, more representative Britain.

An Invitation to Attendees
We warmly invite all delegates, Labour members, community leaders, business representatives, and supporters to attend this pivotal event.

Your participation will:

  • Connect you with influential parliamentarians and thought leaders.
  • Provide a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue about representation and equity.
  • Strengthen networks and partnerships for future collaboration.
  • Contribute to building a Labour movement that truly reflects the diversity and dynamism of modern Britain.
